This Workshop is focused on the interplay between Quantum-Optics and Nano-Photonics. In recent years we have witnessed rapid developments in Quantum Information based on quantum dots or diamond-NV-centers, Quantum Optics involving microresonators, photonic crystal structures and nanoplasmonic antennas along with major breakthroughs in Opto-mechanical cooling.
At the same time, NanoPhotonics and especially Nanoplasmonics, has reached accurate control of light fields down to the nanometer scale. As a result, nano-manipulation with light forces, Purcell enhancement and directivity of single photon emitters are now striving towards novel strategies to build quantum nanofunctional devices.
This meeting gathers key-players active on this interplay, with speakers that are world leaders in their field. Thus the selected set of presentations at the workshop will provide an overview of the current state-of the art and future directions in Quantum-Nano-Optics.

This CISCEM aims to bring together an interdisciplinary group of scientists from the fields of biology, materials science, chemistry, and physics, to discuss future directions of electron microscopy research. Topics will include nanoscale study of biological samples, and functional materials under realistic or near realistic conditions, for example, in gaseous environments, at elevated temperatures, and in liquid. It will be discussed how processes can be studied by including the time domain in electron microscopy, or by a combination of different microscopy methods, for example, correlative fluorescence microscopy and electron microscopy, or by using nanoparticle labels. CISCEM will be the opening ceremony for the facility for in-situ electron microscopy based around the newly installed JEOL ARM200 STEM/TEM at the INM.

Unitatea Executiva pentru Finantarea Invatamantului Superior, a Cercetarii, Dezvoltarii si Inovarii, (UEFISCDI), in calitate de membru al Asociatiei AAL (Ambient Assisting Living), organizeaza vineri, 6 Aprilie 2012, in Sala de consiliu a Facultatii de Medicina, Universitatea de Medicina si Farmacie “Carol Davila” din Bucuresti, un eveniment de tip InfoDay.
Evenimentul are drept scop prezentarea apelului transnational pentru propuneri de proiecte in parteneriat international, derulat in cadrul Programului AAL, cu tema "ICT-based Solutions for (Self-) Management of Daily Life Activities of Older Adults at Home".
Obiectivul apelului din 2012 este de a stimula dezvolatrea solutiilor, utilizand tehnologii informatice si ale comunicatiilor, pentru sustinerea si gestionarea activitatilor domestice de zi cu zi a persoanelor varstnice.

| Conferinta EUREKA si evenimentul de brokeraj proiecte detalii |
In perioada 2-3 Aprilie 2012, va avea loc la Budapesta, Conferinta si evenimentul de brokeraj de proiecte Food for future - future of food". Conferinta urmareste crearea contextului favorabil realizarii de noi proiecte Eureka concentrate pe colaborarea interdisciplinara intre sectorul alimentar si orice alt sector high-tech: TIC, fabricatie, energie, apa.
In data de 3 Aprilie, in intervalul orar 9.30 - 12.00, va avea loc o sesiune de identificare de parteneriate, in cardul careia companiile care au depus deja o idee de proiect vor avea sansa sa discute acest concept cu companii, potential partenere, din alte tari.
